Houma's unique plumbing challenges

About 72 days a year over 90°F, when water heaters and supply lines work hardest

The oldest blocks in town run plumbing decades older than the newer builds toward Lockport

Seasonal timing

Between a January average high of 63 and 91 in July, copper runs expand and contract enough to chafe where they cross a joist, and a pinhole usually turns up at exactly that spot.

Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Who is responsible for the water line between the meter and the house?

The homeowner, in nearly every setup. The utility owns the meter and what feeds it; everything on the house side of that box is yours, including the run under the yard. That is worth knowing before anyone digs.

My house sits on piers. Where is the main shutoff likely to be?

Usually at the meter box near the street, and often a second valve where the line comes up through the floor. On raised homes around Golden Meadow and Morgan City that second valve is frequently in the open under the house, which makes it easy to reach and easy to forget about until it is seized.

Can a plumber tell what my pipes are made of without opening a wall?

Often, yes. Exposed runs under a raised floor, at the heater, or where the line enters the house give it away, and galvanized steel, copper and PEX each look and sound different. Under a slab the answer usually comes from whatever is visible at the ends of the run.
