What a pro does

An emergency call is triage before it's repair. On the phone the plumber wants to know what's wet, whether it's clean water or sewage, and whether the main is already closed, because the answers change what he brings and how fast he needs to be there. Louisiana adds its own version of this. During tropical weather a house can lose power, take on standing water in the yard and back up through its lowest fixture all at once, and telling a failed pipe apart from a sewer system swamped by rainfall matters, since one is fixed at your house and the other isn't.
